You certainly weren't expecting to see a flower on your front porch that unremarkable morning, but there it was.
Pouring yourself a coffee and trying to manage your impressive bed-head, you had only been half-awake in the sun-bleached kitchen when something caught your eye as you stared listlessly out of the window, vaguely appreciative of the sunny skies and slowly-blooming plants finally rousing themselves from a winter slumber.
